“I am not familiar with lease/purchase agreements. What exactly is this?”
Lease/purchase is a type of rent contract that allows you to pay monthly rent to live in a property while enjoying many benefits of home ownership. The agreement allows you 3+ years to consider purchasing the house. Each month, a portion of your rent is applied to the purchase price of the home, giving you instant equity if you decide to buy the home. The lease gives you time to become comfortable and enjoy the home and neighborhood. Lease/purchase agreements are excellent solutions for people who lack the funds needed to purchase the home immediately, or need time to improve or repair their credit.

“These terms sound too good…what’s the catch?”
At New Leaf Housing we believe in being straight forward with our residents. The benefits we have mentioned come with no strings attached. We simply offer enhanced options, which are a win-win situation for both you as an individual and us as the owner.

“What if I am not interested in potentially purchasing a home...can I just rent from you?
Absolutely. The lease/purchase option is simply that: an option. Our contract allows residents to lease the property for five, ten, even fifteen years without ever having to purchase the property.

“What if I do a lease-purchase agreement and I decide not to buy the home?”
There is no penalty for not purchasing the home. You can continue to lease/rent the property without purchasing without any penalty fees.

“What if I have to move? Am I locked into a contract for three years?”
We understand that life can throw you curve balls. If you need to exit your contract, New Leaf Housing can help you with this process while keeping fees to a minimum. We will work with you on a case-by-case basis to address your individual needs.

“I would like to purchase the property instead of leasing. Can I do this?”
Yes. We are open to purchase bids on the properties we list.
